Y Combinator CEO setup with 23 agent roles as a template.
What it is
Garry Tan's personal Claude Code setup โ CEO of Y Combinator. 23 predefined agent roles (CEO, Designer, Engineer, QA, Marketing). Less of an "install and run" skill, more a high-quality template showing how a top operator structures his CLAUDE.md and agent stack.
Install / Setup
Option 1 โ Terminal:
git clone https://github.com/garrytan/gstack.git
Then use the CLAUDE.md and agent definitions as a template for your own setup.
Option 2 โ Prompt Claude Code:
Clone https://github.com/garrytan/gstack and analyze the CLAUDE.md plus the agent definitions. Give me a rundown of what roles are in there and which ones fit my workflow. No 1:1 copy โ recommend what I should steal for my own CLAUDE.md.
What you get
- 23 specialized agent roles
- Opinionated CLAUDE.md โ usable as a template out of the box
- Multi-role workflow โ switch roles depending on the task
- A peek at how a known tech CEO structures his system
Liking this?
Inside the community I show you how I run all of this day-to-day โ live sessions, direct feedback on your setup, and my full configs.
Use cases
- CLAUDE.md inspiration โ If your CLAUDE.md is a mess: use gstack as the skeleton.
- Agent-role design โ See how to define roles cleanly (scope, rules, tool use).
- Your own solo-founder setup โ Adapt the CEO/Marketing/Engineering split to your business.
- Workflow review โ Compare your setup against gstack and spot what you're missing.
Pro tip
Don't copy blindly. Garry Tan runs a VC โ you're a solo founder/operator. Pick 3โ4 roles that actually fit you, dump the rest. A tight setup beats 23 roles you never invoke.
๐ Installing skills is step one. Knowing which ones to use when is what separates operators from tourists. Inside the community I show you my full skill stack and how I use it every day. โ Join the Claude Code Mastery Community
